Overview
The VF225 turns up the output while keeping the VMAX SHO family's lightweight advantage. This 2018 Yamaha is a 225 HP four-stroke powered by a 4,169cc 4.2L 60-degree V6 with a DOHC 24-valve head and electronic fuel injection, quicker and lighter than many two-strokes it replaces. Rigged as a 20-inch VF225LA at roughly 505 pounds with electric start, power trim and tilt, and a 50-amp alternator, it spins a 1.75:1 gearcase up to a 5,000 to 6,000 rpm range. That combination gives big bass and bay boats a hard launch and confident speed. Inspected before shipping, it goes out freight-ready.
