Made for skinny water where a prop can't survive, the pre-owned Evinrude E40DPJL runs a jet pump instead of a gearcase. Part of the E-TEC Jet Series, it uses a stainless jet pump driven by Evinrude's 863 cc (0.86 L) two-cylinder direct-injection E-TEC powerhead, producing roughly 40 horsepower at the pump for confident running over rocks, gravel bars and shallows. Power trim, electric start, a 20-inch long shaft and E-TEC's no-premix oil metering keep it practical, and firing on every revolution gives it strong pull. River runners and shallow-flats boats are its calling. We've inspected this jet outboard and can crate it for freight.
