The 40 hp direct-injection two-stroke is built on an 863 cc (52.7 cu in) in-line two-cylinder powerhead, firing a power stroke on every revolution for strong low-end torque. It rides a 20-inch long shaft with electric start and power trim and tilt, weighs about 240 lb, and turns a 2.00:1 gearcase.
