Overview
Honda's VTEC technology sets this 2023 BF100A apart from ordinary four-strokes. The 100 HP engine is built on a lightweight 1,496cc inline-four with a 16-valve SOHC head, and its VTEC system switches to a second valve profile at higher rpm to unlock strong top-end power from a compact block. PGM-FI fuel injection keeps it clean and efficient, and it turns a 2.33:1 gearcase through a 5,000 to 6,000 rpm range. Rigged as a 20-inch long shaft at about 373 pounds with electric start, power trim and tilt, and a 44-amp alternator, it fits bay boats and pontoons well. Inspected and freight-delivered.
